1473332 Use of photochromism CARLZEISS - STIFTUNG [trading as JENAER GLASWERK SCHOTT & GEN] 40473/74 Heading C4S [Also in Division E1[ A phototropic insulating multiple glazing assembly comprises two glass sheets S 1 , S 2 with at least one phototropic layer ABC in ocntact with the gas space between them; the gas in the space comprises chlorine and/or bromine and may include inert gases (i.e. Group O), e.g. aron or kyrpton; the phototropic layer comprises silver and/or copper and bromine and/or chlorine. A metal frame M holds the sheets in position and has a union P whereby the space may be evacuated and the appropriate gases introduced. Variations of the Fig. 3 arrangement are specified, and deposition processes and support materials detailed.
