Abstract

Dry or paste-like dyestuff preparations comprise a vat dyestuff containing at least one sulphonic and/or carboxylic acid group or a salt thereof and a -CO-NH- group, in admixture with a wetting or dispersing agent or a protective colloid. The preparation may contain from 5 to 500% of the wetting or dispersing agent or protective colloid. Suitable substances are alkylated aromatic sulphonic acids, formaldehyde condensation products of organic sulphonic acids, dinaphthylmethane disulphonic acids, diisopropyl- or dibutylnaphthalene sulphonic acids, sulphoricinoleates, sulphite waste liquor, dextrin, urea, sucrose, toluene sulphonamides, sodium lignosulphonate, and condensation products of ethylene oxide with tetralin sulphonamide, naphthalene sulphonamide or a naphthalene disulphonic acid amide. Reducing agents also may be present, e.g. sodium sulphite, sodium hydrosulphide alkali metal dithionites and glucose.
