Abstract

A non-aqueous stain removing and bleaching composition suitable for use on textile materials or on the hands, comprises a reagent which on contact with water forms sulphur dioxide or sulphurous acid, e.g. sodium dithionite or a mixture of a salt of sulphurous acid and an acid, and one or more dirt-loosening or grease-emulsifying wetting agents mixed with ceresin as carrier, the ceresin being present in an amount such that the composition is in the form of a paste. The composition may be used for removing fruit, ink and rust spots, paint stains, dye solutions, and grease, oil and tar stains.ALSO:A non aqueous stain removing and bleaching composition suitable for use on textile materials or on the hands, comprises a reagent which on contact with water forms sulphur dioxide or sulphurous acid, e.g. sodium dithionite or a mixture of a salt of sulphorous acid and an acid, and one or more dirt loosening or grease emulsifying wetting agents mixed with ceresin as carrier, the ceresin being present in an amount such that the composition is in the form of a paste. The composition may be used for removing fruit, ink and rust spots, paint stains, dye solutions, and grease, oil and tar stains.
