990,895. Insulating chair plates. J. BURNS Ltd. April 3, 1964 [April 16, 1963], No. 14868/63. Heading E1G. A synthetic plastic chair plate assembly comprises a plate 1 placed between the rail 2 and the sleeper and a pair of clamping plates 6 secured to the chair plate to engage the upper surface of the rail flange. The plate 1 is preferably of a mixture of 70-90% by weight of Nylon 6 and 30-10% by weight of Nylon 66 and has a central channel to receive the rail flange. Members 3 projecting from each side of the plate have bolt holes 3 and bosses 4 engaged by locating recesses in the plates 6. Integral lugs 7 may further locate the clamping plates and the base of the chair plate 1 may be concave to provide resilience in the rail mounting.
