Abstract

1323624 Resilient supports for railway rails CONTINENTAL GUMMI-WERKE AG 19 April 1971 [11 Feb 1970] 23922/71 Heading EIG In a resilient rail support, particularly for rails laid without sleepers, wherein a rubber or like pad 3, shown on a base plate 2 anchored to a concrete foundation 1, supports a chair plate 5 carrying and extending outside a rail 7, the pad 3 is provided on its upper and/or lower faces with protuberances 10 in the form of ribs or studs whose construction or spacing varies across the pad so that the central region of the pad, i.e. under the rail 7, has a greater resistance to deformation than the outer regions and so prevents the chair plate from bending under load. As shown the studs 10 are rectangular and closely spaced in the central region, and circular in the outer regions. The pad 3 has drainage holes 12 and upstanding end flanges locating the chair plate 5. The plate 5 and rail 7 are clamped by respective clips 6, 8.
