Abstract

A salt is formed by reacting 12 parts of N - mono - C16- 20 alkyl - trimethylene diamine with 7.4 parts of 80% orthophosphoric acid at 90 DEG C. and agitating until the mixture is cool.ALSO:A high pressure lubricant composition comprises, as a lubricatingly-effective ingredient, a reaction product of orthophosphoric acid and an N - mono - C16- 20 alkyl - trimethylene diamine. Specified compositions, used for metal shaping, particularly wire drawing, contain the above ingredient, and at least some of the following:-vegetable and/or animal fats, mineral and/or synthetic oils, emulsifiers, anti-corrosion agents, ortho-phosphoric acid, an accelerator (e.g. boric acid) and water. The lubricant composition is preferably used in the form of an emulsion or paste.
