Abstract

985,021. Two-part couplings. BELLING & LEE Ltd. Feb. 7, 1964, No. 5189/64. Heading H2E. An electrical connector comprises a pin portion 1 (Fig. 2) which passes into a bored member 14, and is held there by stop means 4, 8, one of which means (4) is supported on the pin 1 and is compressible to pass through the bore of the bored member and acts as a stop therefore when released. The stop means 4 is formed from a metal sheet, disposed in split 3 in pin 1 and having its projecting parts bent round the pin in half-cylindrical shapes. The other end of pin 1 is formed into four prongs 11, 12 between which the end of a conductor 23 may be inserted. Prongs 11, 12 are compressed on to the conductor 23 by a tapered sheath 22, forced on by screwing an insulating cap 19 on to the insulating member 14.
