Abstract

1,149,517. Plural socket assemblies. SEALECTRO CORP. 7 Nov., 1966 [12 Nov., 1965], No. 49818/66. Heading H2E. An electrical terminal socket assembly comprises a bushing made of elastic insulating material such as P.T.F.E., having a flange 18, Fig. 2, at one end, a cylindrical axial opening adjacent this end and a polygonal opening 24 at the other end, the openings receiving an electrical conducting member 26, Fig. 3, which itself has a flange 26D at one end and an axial opening comprising a number of lobes 26A, 26B, 26C. The lobes receive conductors which are conductively secured to the member 26 and the other end (28, Fig. 5, not shown) of the latter is capable of distending the end of the bushing so that the assembly is firmly held in a hole of a panel (14, Fig. 6, not shown) into which it is inserted. In addition, the other end (28) of the member 26 may be bent over to form a flange (28A). In a modification the assembly is a force fit in a hole in the panel and that end of the bushing opposite the flange 18 distends to hold the assembly in position.
