An iron base alloy for springs contains: .Ni.41.4-43.0%, .Ti.2.5-3.1%, .Cr.6.3-7.1%, the balance being Fe, except for impurities such as 0.02% C 0.4% Al, Si, Mn, S, P, and small amounts of Co, Zr usual in commercial practice, where the adjusted nickel content Ni-3.69 (Ti-4C+Al-0.9) is from 33.0% to 34.6%.
