982,058. Vehicle headlamps. E. KASEMANN. June 17, 1963 [July 6, 1962], No. 24083/63. Drawings to Specification. Heading F4R. In a double headlight system for motor vehicles, the pairs of headlamps produce optically equivalent beams both for the high beam and the dipped beam and are so mounted on the vehicle that with a predetermined field of vision, their light intensities are added together. The paired headlamps may be arranged side-byside, one above the other or diagonally. Filament lamps of reduced intensity may be used. Alternatively, polarizing screens may be provided on each lamp or a common polarizing screen provided for each pair.
