An inspection lamp for motor vehicles, which can also be used as a side lamp or signal lamp, comprises a casing 1 having a clear glass 2 and a red glass 3 and enclosing an electric lamp bulb 6 and a parabolic reflector 4 which can be turned through 180 degrees about the axes of the casing. In one position, it directs light through the red glass 3 and screens the clear glass 2; in the opposite position it directs light through the clear glass 2 and screens the red glass 3; and in an intermediate position light can pass through both glasses.
