Abstract

981,950. Gas burners; ovens. MOFFATS Ltd. Nov. 26, 1963, No. 46727/63. Headings F4T and F4W. A gas burner adapted to heat an oven comprises a perforated tube 20 provided at both ends with plates 26 which extend in one direction to overlie the end orifices of the tube and in the other direction beyond the ends of the tube to rest upon bearing surfaces formed in the oven. The plates 26 are secured by screws to closure plates 24 welded to the ends of the tube. A gas/air inlet duct having air inlets is connected to the burner tube 20 intermediate its ends and is adapted to telescope into a gas supply duct. The bearing surfaces are formed at the ends of a recess for the burner at the rear edge of the bottom wall of the oven. The walls and the door of the oven have two skins and insulation therebetween. The bottom wall has sloping portions at the edges.
