Abstract
1,173,476. Incandescent gas fire with boiler. VULCANUS A.G. 13 Oct., 1967 [14 Oct., 1966], No. 46710/67. Heading F4W. In a space heating store having means for heating a liquid, the circulation of the flue gases from one or burners can be adjusted between a first state in which the gases flow along part of the inside of the store casing and a second state in which the gases flow on all sides of a liquid reservoir, maximum radiation being directed towards the space to be heated in the first state, and towards the liquid reservoir in the second state. A store has an outer casing 3 and a front window 7, and partition walls 12 dividing the space between a boiler 11 and the casing 3. Radiants are mounted on a deflector plate 17 pivoted near its top and having rearwardly directed side flanges co-operating with the partition 12 so that in one extreme position gases from burners 8 pass over the front of the plate 17 throuh gaps 16a, 16b to the passages between the casing 3 and partition 12, and in the other extreme position, the gases pass round the boiler 11. A projection 22 at the bottom of the plate 17 increases the radiation towards the boiler in the water heating position.
