[Also in Division E1] A partition wall comprises L- sectioned panels each having a sound-dampened long side 6 and a short side 1, the panels being secured together through their short sides by bolts 19 and also interfitted side by side with the interposition of foamed sealing strips 18. As shown the panels are each provided with a flange 4 fitting on a ledge 8, or other interfitting formations, such as pins which fit into holes, are described. Foamed strips 2 are attached to the ends of the short sides 1. The sound dampening is effected by mineral fibre or foamed material 7 fixed to sheet metal or, in an embodiment, to sheet wood or fibre. In this latter embodiment the sheet wood or fibre is provided with metal edging to form the short side 1 and the interfitting formations. The partition is attached to walls, floors, and ceilings by overlapping the sheet 6 with a suitable batten and applying cover-strips.
