Abstract

976,020. Air-cooled engines. GESELLSCHAFT FUR LINDE'S EISMASCHINEN A.G. March 4, 1963 [March 5, 1962] Sept. 20, 1962. No. 8488/63. Heading F1B. A portion of the cooling air supplied from a blower through a duct 4, Fig. 1, escapes through an outlet 5 on to an oil cooling surface. In Fig. 1 the air is directed over the wall of the crankcase 1 against which oil is sprayed by the crank-shaft motion. At corners of the crankcase, the air may be guided by guides 7. The aperture 5 may be provided in the duct 4 or in the flange on the block to which the duct is bolted. In Fig. 3 the air escaping through aperture 17 flows over an oil cooler 16.
