975,085. Air heating apparatus. CANADA FOUNDRIES & FORGINGS (U.K.) Ltd. Nov. 9, 1962 [Nov. 10, 1961], No. 40408/61. Headings F4W and F4S. A gas-fired air-heating apparatus comprises a heat exchanger 1, 2 partly enclosed in a housing 3 through which air to be heated flows, the heat exchanger 1, 2 containing a burner B supplied with combustion air through a lower port 14 and discharging combustion products through an upper port 15, both ports being connected to an open-ended duct D through flanged pipe extensions 17. The air to be heated is blown over the heat exchanger by a motor-driven fan 13 located in a compartment 11 below the heat exchanger. The burner B is mounted on a cover-plate 21 provided with a flame viewer orifice 22 and secured by screw studs to a front opening 20 extending through the housing 3 into the heat exchanger. Gas is supplied to the burner through a control unit 26 and a main pipe 25. A pilot jet 23 is continuously supplied with gas through a pipe 24.
