Abstract

972,177. Bags with opening devices. PAPER SACKS Ltd. Sept. 13, 1963 [Nov. 5, 1962], No. 41679/62. Addition to 857,463. Heading B8K. A tab 2 (Fig. 1) for tearing open the blockbottom of a multi-ply bag, as in the parent Specification, is secured to at least one ply of the bag so as to extend longitudinally from one end of the bag to the other. In the form illustrated, the tab consists of a length of paper 2 folded to form a tube and pasted to the inner ply which has a tab 1. The plies may be cut flush, as illustrated, or may be staggered as in the parent Specification. The strip 2 may be of reinforced paper, card, plastic, cloth or string.
