Abstract

1,024,111. Multi-compartment bags. JOHN DICKENSON & CO. Ltd. March 24, 1964 [March 27, 1963], No. 12141/63. Heading B8K. [Also in Division A4] A flat multi-compartment bag made from thin preferably transparent flexible sheet material comprises a tubular structure folded in two or more parts, each part compartmented with openings adjacent a fold line. The bag is formed from a rectilinear strip of transparent fibre welded at 14, 15, 16, 17 or from seamless tubing welded transversely and slit longitudinally. The compartments may be closed by heat sealing or by a strip of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, after the contents (e.g. postcards) have been inserted. The welded flap 21 may be omitted. In another embodiment the bag is made by uniting multiple webs along their side edges and transverse seams. One edge of the bag may be reinforced and have holes punched therein to suspend it for display purposes.
