Abstract
970,702. Two-part couplings. M. MORSE. June 28, 1963 [July 3, 1962], No. 25745/63. Heading H2E. The earthing pin of a plug connector is pivotally mounted within the plug body, a spring 76, Fig. 3, engaging in a groove 57, Fig. 4, at the end of the earthing pin, resiliently maintaining the portion 51 of the pin in parallel relationship with the power pins 12, 13. When the plug is coupled to a two-hole socket, the earthing pin is urged against the metallic cover of the socket receptacle by the spring bias, but can pivot about the axis of portion 50, mounted in a bushing 44. The spring is mounted around a projection 69 (Fig. 3) within a recess 22 in one wall of the plug body. Specification 865,510 is referred to.
