969,373. Machines for moulding perforated bricks. C. WHITTAKER & CO. Ltd. March 13, 1963 [March 21, 1962], No. 10770/62. Heading B5A. A machine for moulding perforated bricks comprises a mould box A, within which is movable a lower hollow piston B, and an upper piston C, a transverse bar D, having upwardly projecting prongs E, being arranged to move in the lower piston B upwardly and downwardly. The ends d of the bar D project through vertical slots in the piston B, and are attached to compression brackets d<SP>1</SP> which are slidable over rods F and retain compression springs G. A charge is placed in the mould box when the piston B is at the bottom of its stroke, then the piston B is moved upwardly and the piston C downwardly, the latter engaging the ends of the prongs E and moving the bar D against the action of the spring G. When the perforated brick has been formed it is moved out of the mould box A by the continued upward movement of the lower piston B.
