Abstract

968,942. Endless belt conveyers. MINING ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. July 22, 1963 [July 21, 1962], No. 28152/62. Heading B8A. In an endless belt conveyer in which the load carrying run 10 of the belt is supported by troughed idlers 11 suspended between parallel rigid square cross - sectional longitudinal stringers 12, the latter are formed in relatively short sections which are articulated at their ends by vertical pins 17 mounted in channel sections 16 welded to the upper ends of supporting frames. Each frame comprises two transversely spaced pillars 13, Fig. 3 (not shown), welded at their lower ends to a transverse base-plate 14 having upwardly curved ends 15. In operation the conveyer can be moved transversely in a " snaking " motion due to the articulated structure.
