Abstract

1,160,606. Endless chain conveyers. C. M. BATHGATE. 27 Aug., 1968 [7 Sept., 1967], No. 41001/67. Heading B8A. In a chain assembly for use in an overhead conveyer, and comprising a plurality of interconnected substantially closed links 9, and support members 15 from which articles to be conveyed may be suspended, at least one of the support members passes through, and is flash welded to, an inner surface of one of the links 9. As shown, axles 11 supporting the members 15 are fused to inner surfaces of the links 9 and have rollers 12 at their extremities for running along a track 3. Alternate axles 11 are vertical and horizontal . After welding, the links are elongated to the dot-dash line shape (Fig. 3) so that the weld is held firm between opposite parts of the link.
