Abstract

1380653 Endless chain conveyers JOHN BURTON MACHINE CORP 10 Aug 1972 [13 April 1972] 37258/72 Heading B8A A chain 1 supported in mount 2 drags articles along by friction between the chain and the bottom of the article. The articles are supported at their edges by rollers 10 and intermediate the edges and the chain by rollers 20, 21 22, 23, 24 which are adjustable in position by means of slots along the longitudinal sides of the mount to give more or less support depending on the weight of the articles to be carried, heavier articles requiring the rollers to be positioned closer together than lighter articles so that the friction is sufficient to convey the articles but small enough to prevent damage to stopped downstream articles by moving upstream articles.
