Abstract

968,677. Transistor oscillator circuits. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 16, 1961 [June 28, 1960], No. 22665/60. Heading H3T. A multivibrator comprises a pair of crosscoupled transistors VT1, VT2 having collector resistors R3, R4 connected to a first supply terminal; cross-coupling capacitors C1, C2 extending between the base of each transistor and a junction point in the collector circuit of the other between its collector and collector resistor; and a current responsive output device directly connected in series with the collector-emitter path of one of the transistors at a point between the junction point and the other supply terminal, whereby the input current path of the output device is traversed by the transistor's emitter-collector current, including the capacitor charging current, so that the charging current is ineffective to distort the wave shape of the output. As described, the output device may be a further transistor VT3 connected on the emitter circuit of VT2, Fig. 1, or a ferrite cored transformer in its collector circuit, Fig. 2.
