Abstract
782,038. Transistor amplifier stabilizing circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Aug. 19, 1955 [Aug. 24, 1964], No. 23975/55. Class 40 (6). In a circuit in which the collector of transistor 1 is connected directly to the base of transistor 2, the working-point of the second transistor is stabilized by connecting resistors 5, 6 in the emitter circuit of the second transistor, the junction being connected to the base of the first transistor. Further compensation may be obtained by including a resistor 7, which may be decoupled, in the emitter circuit of transistor 1. The input source 3 may be included in the lead 9 between the base of transistor 1 and the junction of resistors 5, 6. The resistors may be made temperature-sensitive, resistor 6 having a negative temperature coefficient and resistor 5 and/or 7 a positive coefficient. Resistor 6 may be replaced by a diode conducting in the same sense as the emitter of transistor 2. The input impedance may be increased by a feed-back circuit 8, and a resistor may also be included in lead 9 with its lower end connected to the emitter circuit of transistor 1 over a capacitor. The signal source 3 may be connected in series with the voltage across resistor 6.
