Abstract

769,584. Transistor amplifier stabilizing circuits. MULLARD RADIO VALVE CO., Ltd. July 19, 1955 [Sept. 20, 1954], No. 27146/54. Class 40(6) In an amplifier comprising a transistor T1 with a temperature sensitive characteristic, an additional transistor T2 is arranged to compensate for the temperature effect in the amplifying transistor. Variations in the temperature - sensitive collector cut-off current in transistor T1 are compensated by connecting the base over resistor R3 to the collector of transistor T2 which operates with an open-circuited base. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), two transistors are operated from the same supply and the base resistor R2 is omitted. When a common base transistor T1 is employed, Fig. 3, the emitter is connected over a resistor R10 to the emitter of the compensating transitsor T2, the emitter of transistor T1 being connected over resistor R8 to a positive supply EE. The compensating transistors T2 are operated with open-circuit base electrodes so that the actual collector current is substantially proportional to the collector cut-off current.
