968,567. Unwrapping wrapped electrical connections. FERRANTI Ltd. July 18, 1963 [July 20, 1962], No. 27920/62. Heading B3E. A tool for unwrapping wrapped electrical connections includes at least one tubular member 1 having one end adapted to fit loosely over a wrapped electrical connection 8, the tubular member 1 containing a slot 3 extending axially from one end for receiving the wire 11 extending from connection 8 such that when the tubular member 1 is fitted over a wrapped connection 8 rotation of the tubular member 1 in the appropriate direction will sever said wire and unwrap the connection. The slot 3 has sharp outer edges 3A, 3B to sever the wire. The internal surface of the tubular member 1 may be roughened or formed with a helical groove to ensure retaining of the unwrapped connection. The unwrapped connection is ejected by depressing a spring-loaded rod 4. The member 1 may be driven by hand or by a motor. Two wrapped connections may be unwrapped simultaneously by a tool having two tubular members.
