Abstract

967,480. Valves. RHEINISCHE METALWERK G.m.b.H. July 4, 1962 [Aug. 26, 1961], No. 25714/62. Heading F2V. The cast body 1 of a simple-throughway rotary-cylindrical cock has the flow passages 3 and the transverse closure-member bore 2 for the valve plug 4 lined with bushes of synthetic material, e.g. P.V.C. or coated with enamel. At the junctions between the passages and bore the bushes or coatings are shaped to form dovetail section grooves that house flexible sealing rings 7, 7<SP>1</SP>. An operating shaft 10 with a pinion 101 meshes with a toothed ring 9 on the plug, which ring has teeth round at least 90 degrees of its periphery. A valve-position indicating- spindle 11 is also provided. When the plug has been partly rotated the controlled fluid flows past the sealing rings into body 1 to lubricate the working parts and since the plug 4 is a loose fit in the body the inlet fluid forces the plug against the sealing ring on the outlet side.
