Abstract

1383349 Valves J NEMETZ 13 April 1972 [13 April 1971] 17039/72 Heading F2V In a butterfly-type valve, which is said to be suitable for high-pressure operation, the casing 3 is lined with a polyurethane lining 4 and has extending inwardly therefrom a collar 5. The collar 5 is arranged to lie opposite the valve member 1 when the latter is in its closed condition. Figs. 2 to 8 not shown, depict modifications wherein the valve member and/or collar peripheries are shaped and wherein the one collar may be substituted by two or more spaced collars of which one or more may be perforated. Furthermore, the lining may be formed with valve member-entracing lips. Also, the lining may be attached to a replaceable sleeve member which is sealably contained within the casing. The provision of more than one collar also aids in retaining the lining in place.
