Abstract

1276041 Valves G H LAGHER 29 June 1970 31404/70 Heading F2V A sealing gasket 3 housed in a recess of a closure member 1 is forced by the fluid pressure being controlled against a seat 2 when the valve is closed. The fluid pressure is communicated to the spaces 7 and 8 at the base of the recess and which communicate via radial passages 9 by axial passage 11 and radial passage 10 in a pin 5. In modifications passages 10, 11 are replaced by longitudinal grooves in pin 5, passages 9 are replaced by passages in a washer disposed between the closure member and gasket or grooves in the gasket or closure member and the remote face of the gasket has a U orV profile.
