Abstract

1468570 Valves CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 29 Aug 1974 [4 Sept 1973] 37856/74 Heading F2V The closure member 21 of a relief valve is integral with a damping piston 26 defining a chamber 28 having restricted communication with outlet 13 via the clearance between the piston 26 and the bore 16. The end of the closure member opposite to the piston is provided with an enlarged head 27 keeping the member aligned in the bore. The head is provided with grooves 29 to allow unrestricted flow from inlet to outlet as soon as the valve is opened.
