An ultrasonic probe comprises a first piezoelectric crystal 3 spaced from and surrounded by a second piezo-electrio crystal 3B, facing blocks 1 and 2 for the crystals, one block within the other, a damping sleeve 2A between the blocks, and a holder 4 for the crystals. Damping screws 4A, 4B and 4C engage the crystals, and the opposing surfaces 2B of the facing blocks may be silvered.
