Abstract

961,995. Suction cleaners. DAWSON BROS. Ltd., D. DAWSON, and G. DAWSON. July 12, 1962 [April 12, 1961], No. 13101/61. Heading A4F. In a suction apparatus for cleaning vehicle interiors having a cabinet 1 with an inlet opening 6, power driven fan(s) 16, screens or filters and an outlet 20, a movable member is associated with the inlet opening and adapted to surround and seal the door of the vehicle 12 so that foreign matter is sucked from the vehicle when the fan(s) is (are) operated. The inlet 6 is connected by a duct 7 to a pleated bellows 9 at the other end of which is an appropriately shaped perimetral frame with an outer resilient cushion 11 adapted to surround and seal an opening of a vehicle. For vehicles with a corner door opening in two planes at right angles to each other the framework has articulated thereto a transverse sealing flap 14 which is automatically actuated by a pneumatic cylinder 15.
