Abstract

812,835. Suction cleaners. LANDERS, FRARY & CLARK. Jan. 1, 1957 [Jan. 6, 1956], No. 22/57. Class 8(1). [Also in Group XXXV]. A canister type suction cleaner comprises a vertical filter compartment 21 from which clean air is discharged through a side aperture 48 near the base 21 into a vertical duct 49 having at its upper end a horizontal outlet 51 connected to the inlet 74 of a motor fan unit 53, the other end 61 being resiliently supported by means including a bracket 54 (see Group XXXV) secured within the cleaner casing 10. The latter comprises upper and lower sections 11, 12 having cooperating peripheral flanges 13, 14 bolted together and faced by a rubber bumper 16. A hinged cover 24 has a suction hose connection 27 and the filter compartment 20 contains an outer cloth bag 35, an inner paper bag 36 and a final flock pad 46 supported by an apertured disc 39 secured by a screw 40 to the inwardly curved base 21 of the compartment. A blower connection 82 also has a filter screen 83.
