Abstract

402,278. Vacuum cleaners. GIAMBERTONI, A., 3, Piazzale- Romana, Milan, Italy. Feb. 11, 1933, Nos. 4261 and 4262. Convention dates, Feb. 12, 1932 and Oct. 17, 1932. [Class 8 (i).] The air is discharged from a vacuum cleaner through a silencing passage formed by inner and outer shells 2, 1 enclosing the electric motor 4, fan 5, and dust bag 8, passing from this passage through a cylindrical filter 17 to the outlet 13. The cylindrical filter may be replaced by a disc filter or by a set of disc filters,Fig. 7, comprising flat casings 20, 21 with openings out of register, containing sponge, rubber or other sound-damping material. A sound-absorbing cushion 26 may be provided. The passage 3 may be of varying width and shape.
