Abstract

961,508. Valves. A. M. MARSHALL. May 13, 1963 [Sept. 12, 1962], No. 34767/62. Heading F2V. A valve comprises a housing formed by detachable parts 1, 7, the part 1 having a bore 2 providing a flow passage. A valve plate 10, having an aperture 11, controls flow through the passage, the plate being actuated by a worm 4 which engages teeth 18 on the periphery of the plate. The plate rotates on a pivot pin 9 which is mounted in the part 7 of the housing whereby the pin and part 7 may be removed for inspection of the valve seats which are preferably O- or D-shaped sealing rings carried by seating rings. In a modification sealing strips are secured to the valve plate around its aperture and the section of the plate which closes the passage.
