Abstract

960,532. Making valved bags. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES OF AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND. Aug. 7, 1962 [Aug. 9, 1962], No. 30210/62. Heading B5D. [Also in Division B8] A valve is formed by inserting a flexible tube 18 in a bag (see also Division B8) aperture so that less than half is protruding, sealing it in this position and subsequently turning the protruding part inwards. The tube 18 has apertures 14 and 15 which are asymmetrically placed with respect to the bag slit which may be at an edge of the bag or in an end seam. During heat-sealing, which may be done by high-frequency electrical heating, a barrier sheet may be held between the walls to prevent these sealing together.
