973,508. Plastics valve bags. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 9, 1963 [Jan. 25, 1962], No. 2828/62. Heading B8K. At least one short side of a rectangular plastics bag is constituted by a fold in the plastics material, a valve being formed in the region of this fold, and the remaining sides are sealed to form a closed bag. The bag is preferably made from a tube of plastics material which is sealed at its ends after inserting the valve which may be a slit extending across the fold 1 and covered behind by a flap 5 of material which may have a thinner extension 7 as described in Specification 961,423. Alternatively, the valve may be a tubular sleeve or an infolded corner of the bag. The seams are preferably formed by the application of heat and pressure or else by highfrequency heating or adhesives.
