Abstract
1,000,335. Flat valve bags. BOWATER RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO. Feb. 12, 1964 [Feb. 15, 1963], No. 6233/63. Heading B8K. A slit in a longitudinal side fold of a flat bag of synthetic resin tubing heat sealed at 2, 3 (Fig. 1) receives a valve sleeve 6. The valve sleeve may taper as shown, and may be folded from a sheet to the section shown in Fig. 3. Alternatively, both edges 21, 22 may be folded to lie outside the sleeve (Fig. 2, not shown). The valve sleeve is preferably of synthetic resin or paper coated with synthetic resin and is heat sealed to the side walls 9. The portion of the bag and the valve sleeve to the right (in Fig. 1) of this heat seal may be cut away.
