Abstract
960,410. Tuning indicators. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 12, 1960 [July 15, 1959], No. 24310/60. Heading H1D. A tuning indicator comprises a cathode 1, a fluorescent target 6 on the envelope wall 5, and, between them, two deflector electrodes 9, 10, one for connection to each of two potentials to be indicated, and combined with an interposed insulating layer 11 to form a unit. As shown, deflector electrodes 9, 10 are arranged transversely to fluorescent strip 6 and conductive layer 4, and have opposite ends, in a plane transverse to the drawing, bent back over the edges of the intermediate mica layer 11. The deflection voltages supplied to electrodes 9, 10 may be produced in a separate double triode or in two triodes provided in the envelope of the tuning indicator. The deflector system, cathode and grid 3 may be supported by insulating plates 12.
