Abstract

959,831. Rotary compressors or motors. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER A.B. May 30, 1960 [June 4, 1959], No. 19008/60. Heading F1F. A meshing screw pump or motor incorporates at least one slide 46, which seals against at least one rotor 12 and is movable to vary the mass flow and/or the pressure ratio of the machine. The slide is mounted on a guide 48, but in a modification is mounted in the casing Fig. 3 (not shown). The slide may co-operate with the inlet or outlet port, or one slide may be used for each, or may comprise two separate slides on the same axis, Fig. 8 (not shown). The rotors may have double-helical lands. In Fig. 6, a slide 64 controls communication with the high pressure duct 36, to vary the pressure ratio of the machine, and slides 66, 68 are adjustable to vary the cut-off of the working chambers from a duct 34A leading to the low-pressure duct, thus varying the mass flow as well as the pressure ratio.
