Abstract

959,833. Rotary engines. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER A.B. May 30, 1960 [June 4, 1959], No. 19012/60. Heading F1F. A rotary motor of the intermeshing screw - type incorporates on each side of the plane passing through the axes of the rotors at least one valve member such as an axially movable slide 40, 42 interconnected by adjusting rods 52, 54 which are also connected to a reversing valve (not shown), the slides being so interconnected and adjusted that the inlet opening e.g. port 320, is of larger area than the outlet opening 300. In a modification, (Fig. 3, not shown) each valve comprises a cylindrical jacket cut off along a helical line and cooperating with slots in the casing wall, or in a second modification, (Fig. 6, not shown), is replaced by two flaps operable together to expose or cover one side of the rotors, or in a third modification, (Fig. 8 not shown), is replaced by radially movable portions of the jacket wall of the casing forming valves.
