Abstract

966,529. Rotary compressors. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER A.B. Aug. 26, 1960 [Sept. 1, 1959], No. 29527/60. Heading F1F. In a meshing screw type pump the inlet 16 and outlet 18 are disposed on opposite sides and lead to the periphery of the rotors; the casing 24 is relieved at 26 round the periphery of the rotors to the lines 30 defining the compression spaces and the crests of the screw lands from close running clearances over the remaining area of the casing. Cooling liquid is introduced at 32 into the compressive space and a baffle 36 deflects liquid escaping between the rotors away from the inlet. Drainage troughs may be provided in the baffle 36 or as shown in Fig. 4 at 37 on the side of the portions 26, and lead to outlets 46. Further baffles 48 deflect leakage at the line 30 to outlets 50.
