Abstract

1333770 Rotary compressors BORSIG GmbH and WANKEL GmbH 15 Dec 1970 [19 Jan 1970] 59425/70 Heading F1F A planetary piston compressor of the trochoidal type having a single rotor and comprising a peripheral wall 1 and end walls 4, 5, is provided with housing covers 19, 20 through which at the drive end the eccentric carrying shaft extends and is sealed at 21. The compressor is used in a closed circuit containing a working medium to which lubricant is added and a passage 22 aligned with the inlet 20 is arranged adjacent the delivery valve to effect cooling and so that some intake gas is directed on to the end cover 19 to be deflected in to the space between the end wall 5 and the cover 19 around the seal 21 thus depositing lubricant for the seal. Depositing can be improved by grooves 23 on the cover. Other passages may be provided between the spaces formed by the covers 19, 20 to improve cooling effected by the working medium in the passage 22 and to equalize gas flow to inlets in the two end walls 4, 5. Counter-weights 17 may be provided.
