955,178. Suspended ceilings. P. A. PALMER. Nov. 2, 1961 [Nov. 8, 1960], No. 39254/61. Heading E1V. Plaster ceiling panels 15 are suspended from the structural ceiling on flanged supports 13 by cast in resilient hooks 16 which can be pushed out of engagement with the supports 13 by latches 21, which, when the panels are forced up against the supports 13, slide down the hooks 16 until tongues 21b on the latches engage in slots 19 in the hooks. Supports 13 are adjustably suspended from the structural ceiling by brackets or channels 12, bolts 11 screwed into the flanges 10 of hooks 9, and perforated straps 7 which can slide along the lower arm of a clamped U-shaped mounting member 1 bolted to the ceiling. The hooks 16 are arranged so that adjacent hooks at panel intersections converge upwards, ensuring a close fitting intersection.
