Abstract

875,633. Suspended ceiling. UNITONE (ACOUSTIC TILES) Ltd., and WRIGHT, G. C. Dec. 18, 1958 [Jan. 17, 1958], No. 1747/58. Class 20(4) Tiles or panels are secured below support members extending along the tile joints by clips slidable on the support members and provided with ledges which engage supporting abutments provided along the longitudinal edges of the tiles. A box section support 9 receives slidable clips 10 and downwardly pressed lips 11 engage the edges 3 of the metal panels 1. In an embodiment (not shown) I-shaped clips are used, the lower flange of the I engaging in grooves in the edges of tiles. In a further embodiment (not shown) the panels have edges like edges 2 in the Figure but with parts pressed out to replace the edges 3 and the fixing clips slide under these pressed parts.
