Abstract

948,625. Fuel distributers. P. E. BESSIERE. March 3, 1960 [Aug. 31, 1959], No. 7597/60. Heading F1B. In an I.C. engine fuel injection device in which the same piston-cylinder assembly 1 Fig. 1, of a reciprocating pump feeds fuel injectors by means of a distributer 9, discharge means 14 are brought into communication with a common supply conduit 8, in the interval between injections by separate injectors, and separate discharge means 19 are brought into communication with each of the individual conduits 11 1 , 11 2 , at least once between two consecutive injections through those conduits. Fuel is delivered from the pump through a re-intake or ball valve 7 and conduit 8 to circumferential groove 13 in rotary element 10. A groove 12 delivers fuel successively to individual conduits 11 1 , 11 2 , leading to the fuel injectors. Between successive injections, the fuel in groove 13 is discharged through grooves 14 to conduit 15 and the fuel in each of the conduits 11 1 , 11 2 , is discharged through groove 19 and groove 18 to conduit 20. Throttles 16 and 21 or, in a modification, counter-pressure valves maintain desired fuel pressures in conduit 8 and conduits 11 1 , 11 2 . In a further modification re-intake valves replace throttle valves 21. In a further embodiment a number of grooves are provided on the rotary element to discharge the conduits 11 1 , 11 2 simultaneously. The residual pressure in conduit 8 or in the conduits 11 1 , 11 2 may be provided by a pump, the delivery of which is connected to the corresponding discharge conduit through a pressure-calibrated discharge valve. Specification 948,624 is referred to.
