[Also in Divisions F1 and F2] Flow in a pipeline of a central heating installation is normally maintained by a device incorporating a centrifugal pump 31 connected across the inlet-outlet passage 5-6 of the device by a rotary disc valve 12. A flap valve 37 carried by the rotary valve 12 is held closed by the pump outlet pressure and prevents direct flow in the passage 5-6 when the pump is running, but on breakdown or other stoppage of the pump direct flow through the flap valve is maintained by a thermosiphonic head in the system. The valve 12 is manually rotatable to a position in which the pump is isolated from the passage 5-6.
