Abstract
1366482 Stop-gear for a rotary air motor BROOM & WADE Ltd 3 Nov 1971 [18 Nov 1970] 54877/70 Addition to 1109800 Heading F1K A rotary air motor 11 has a valve 22 in its air supply passage 13, releasable means to retain the valve in the open condition, which releasable means comprises a bayonet type of connection between a projection 27 on the valve member and a slot in the body of the motor, and means responsive to the speed of the motor for effecting release of the releasable means when the speed of the motor increases beyond a predetermined level thereby permitting the valve to close the passage. When the motor overspeeds a flyweight moves outwards against the resistance of a spring and as the flyweight rotates it engages the pin 27 to knock it into the axial part of its slot thereby bringing about the closing of the valve.
