945,451. Extruding; billet piercing. HYDRAULIK G.m.b.H. June 5, 1962 [June 24, 1961], No. 21766/62. Headings B3H and B3P. An hydraulic metal tube extrusion press has a piercing mandrel 14 driven by a piston 12 in an hydraulic cylinder 11 disposed behind the main press cylinder 1 and rigidly connected to the main press piston 8. An extension 8a of the latter temminates in a crosshead 8b connected by rods 9 to a crosshead 10 of the mandrel cylinder 11. Adjustable stops 17 on the piston 12 co-operate with stops 16 on the cylinder 1 to limit the forward stroke of the mandrel.
